Town of Laurier, Manitoba

In the shadow of the mountain, the Town of Laurier sits just outside the North East corner boundary of Riding Mountain National Park.

You can easily spend a couple hours exploring another culture, another way of life by visiting the Town of Laurier. Last summer, we came upon Laurier on our way back from a long and arduous search for Skanes Crossing. What turned into a short roadtrip searching on word of mouth, we found what we were looking for by passing through Laurier.

Stop in on your way to or from Dauphin and walk around.

I lived in Laurier from the time I was adopted till I was nearly 5 years old. My parents were Mary and Charlie Trottier. They were long time residents of Laurier and my Dad owned a general store at one time.
Dad passed away in 1968 and I lost my Mom in 2000.
We moved to Vancouver in 1949 for health reasons and spent the rest of our time there. I now live in the little town of Armstrong B.C.. My Dad's family were all born and raised in Laurier and I heard many stories of events that had taken place in the "good old days"
I would love to hear from any one that might remember Mary and Charlie and myself of course.

I lived in Laurier for quite some yrs.. Basically grew up there and I have to say.. sure miss it! I now live in wpg mb.. There were plenty times as a teenager that I recall.. " omg is so BORING here! " And well.. it was sometimes.. but all in all.. Im so glad i grew up there.. great people, like one big close knit family.
