Ochre River is a small quaint village that sits just a minutes drive off of the #5 highway on your way up to Dauphin. What drew me there the first time, was a cafe in a church called, The Heavenly Scoop. Unfortunately, I've heard that The Heavenly Scoop is no more. Fortunately, the town is and is waiting for you to explore all of its subtleness and intrigue. The R.M. of Ochre River is situated between Riding Mountain National Park and Lake Dauphin. The Villages of Ochre River and Makinak are situated within the municipality.
